ICISF's public website has two articles by Dr. Kathy Platoni [Claude.ai result]

  • CISM Versus Peer Support (posted September 7, 2023). She argues that CISM and peer support should work together rather than compete. She writes that the turf battle between CISM and peer support has gained considerable traction over the last few years in the first responder community. The piece draws on the 2019 Oregon District shooting response in Dayton and on her Army combat stress control deployments.

  • The Other Side of Officer Involved Shootings and Their Indelible Impact (posted March 2, 2026). This piece is about the psychological toll on officers involved in shootings. She opens with the line-of-duty death of Lorain, Ohio Police Officer Phillip Wagner, who was killed in an ambush while eating lunch in his cruiser. A shorter version was reprinted in the Dayton Daily News on July 30, 2025.

The site's search also brings up the ICISF Member Library page for her name. That suggests more of her work is there, but it's behind the member login, so I couldn't list those titles.
